Profile

Brooke Halliday broke into the White Ferns squad by top-scoring in the domestic 50-over tournament in 2021. She made her debut against England and scored fifties in her first two outings which in turn led to her being nominated for ICC's Player of the Month. By the end of 2021, she was named the captain of Northern Districts.

Born in Hamilton, she was introduced to cricket at a very young age. Her father, uncle and grandfather have all played cricket for the same club and Halliday has been playing cricket from the age of five.

Halliday was part of the NZ set-up in the 2022 ICC Women's World Cup which was held at home and later the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where the White Ferns won the bronze medal.

The stylish left-handed batter is known for her adaptability. Generally a top-order bat, Halliday had to bat in the lower-order for the national side, something which she has managed to do by maintaining a healthy strike rate. The stylish left-handed batter is also known to bat at different tempi. She is also a handy medium-pacer who can operate in the middle overs.

Halliday was an integral member of the New Zealand team that won the 2024 T20 World Cup. She played a key role with the bat and scored a valuable 28-ball 38 in the final. Her form continued on the subsequent tour of India where she emerged as the top run-getter of the 3-match ODI series. Although NZ lost the series, Halliday recorded her career-best knock of 86 in the final ODI.
